An ammonite from the Lower Lias of the Jurassic period (Sinemurian stage, Semicostatum zone). It was found in drift deposits on the Holderness Coast, South Yorkshire, England. The ammonite originates from liassic deposits further north but was brought south by glacial action. The specimen measures just over 2" across.
